The New Zealand Institute of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (NZIPP) welcomes applications for membership. Applicants who complete the NZIPP training programme and its requirements are eligible to apply for full membership of the Institute. Full NZIPP membership provides the right to obtain membership of the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Association of Australasia (PPAA) and attend the annual conference.
The NZIPP also welcomes overseas trained psychoanalytic psychotherapists or psychoanalysts to apply for membership. In consultation with the membership committee, the NZIPP has the authority to grant member status to applicants who provide evidence of their training and clinical experience to a level deemed equivalent to the Institute's requirements in these areas (equivalency clause).
Applicants are required to send a formal request in writing, proof of registration with a professional New Zealand mental health body, and their Curriculum Vitae, to the NZIPP Chair of Membership.
Applicants who meet most, but not all, of the requirements for full membership, may apply for Associate Membership of the Institute.
For information and/or to submit an application please contact the Chair of Membership Dr Mark Thorpe .
