Pre-requisites

Although selection will be by individual interview, it is expected that a prospective trainee will have had significant prior training and experience in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. A good understanding of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy is required.

REQUIREMENT FOR MEMBERSHIP OF N.Z.I.P.P

Those who undertake the full Training Programme will be eligible for membership of the Institute after successful completion of the all the training requirements and after fulfilling the NZIPP membership requirements.

NZIPP membership gives the member the right to obtain PPAA membership.

In consultation with the Membership Committee (see Constitution) NZIPP has the authority to grant member status to an applicant who provides evidence of the theoretical training, personal psychoanalytic psychotherapy, supervision and clinical experience to an extent deemed quivalent to the Institute's requirements in these areas.

This would normally require the holding of a membership status at least equivalent to NZIPP membership.
